I have also had a passion for creating which has me trying out as many mediums as I can.
Here are some highlights of different projects. Many are from my wood shop. I love creating something from nothing, using random material others might throw in the trash, and giving new life to old items.
I've always got something in the works if not multiple projects going! I hope you enjoy and send me your feedback or any ideas you have! :)
HOPE CHEST
I found a great hope chest at a 2nd hand store.
Sanded it down completely.
Used blue paint and dark brown stain. Hand painted Celtic knots on the sides and front.
Cleaned the brass hardware.
Lined the interior with beautiful wallpaper and put a wooden boarder around the edges.
I'm so happy with how this one turned out.
OLD SLED
I took an old metal and wood sled that had seen better days and made it into a holiday center piece.
I disassembled to use the old wood pieces as templates to cut new wood. Spray painted the metal a vibrant red. Painted a snowy tree scene with Santa's sleigh flying over the handle.

CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS
I sliced up last year's Christmas tree to make ornaments!
I burned designs on one side and applied sheet music or maps to the back. Then finished with a stain.
It was an absolute blast to make these, I got my station set up and ended up running out wood so I had to find more!
I plan to do more.
SIDE TABLE CONVERTED TO BOOK SHELF
This is another piece I rescued on it's way to the dump. It was an awkward sized side table. I decided to cut it in half, then stack one half on top of the other to make a book case.
It was an adventure in figuring it out along the way. I'd never converted a piece like this before so it was tough but rewarding.
It's a nice unique piece that adds some originality t
CHAIRS AND PLANTER
I found the chairs at a 2nd hand store, repainted silver/purple and new upholstery. Gave them a modern royal update.
The planter was being thrown out but I knew there was more life in it. I had to replace the bottom piece of wood, disassemble, sand, stain and reassemble. I added some fun flowers. I think it has a nice Bavarian feel that adds a pop to a front flower pot.
HALLOWEEN LAWN DECORATIONS
I LOVE making my own holiday lawn decorations!
I take ply wood and cut out the shapes I want then paint them.
I get lots of positive comments.
I have a whole Christmas crew too!
